The technical career path begins with the Customer Engineer.
At Toshiba, we refer to our field service engineers as Customer Engineers, highlighting our commitment to customer satisfaction. There are four levels of Customer Engineers, with hiring and movement between levels predicated on experience and modality expertise.

Training Academy: TAMS Training Academy has over 28,000 square feet of state-of-the-art labs, classrooms, offices and technical archives dedicated to perfecting the skills of our Customer Engineers. Located in Irvine, California, the Academy provides a top-rate learning experience for students and offers complete training in all modalities. In fact, 70% of the training is hands-on, lab training. Instructors are National Support Specialists (NSS) that bring with them real-world knowledge and experience. Our Specialists communicate with people of many backgrounds, educate staff how to use new equipment and travel frequently. It's no wonder many consider the CEs that come out of here to be among the industry's best. Our training is so successful, other Toshiba operating companies and many Toshiba customers pay to have their employees trained here.
This career path is a management path. The central position currently is the Area Service Manager (ASM). Other management-level positions will evolve as the company expands, to include positions that will be a hybrid and cross-over between the technical and management ranks, supervising TSS employees within a given zone.
