Fredric J. Friedberg

As chairman of the board for Toshiba, Fredric Friedberg is responsible for driving the long-term vision of the company. Prior to this role with Toshiba America Medical Systems, he held the position of senior vice president and chief legal officer, and was responsible for the company’s legal and regulatory affairs as well as the company’s interaction with the Food and Drug Administration and the medical industry’s primary trade associations. Friedberg also serves as chairman of the board for Toshiba Medical Research Institute and Toshiba America MRI, Inc., as well as Toshiba Medical Visualization Systems Europe LTD. Friedberg has worked in the legal profession for more than 40 years and in the medical diagnostic imaging industry for nearly as long.
President and CEO
As president and CEO of Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc., Shuzo Yamamoto is responsible for the overall leadership of the company and for executing strategies that support Toshiba’s mission to deliver integrated diagnostic solutions through long-term customer partnerships to improve the lives of all people.
Yamamoto has held several senior-level executive positions with Toshiba. Most recently he served as vice president for Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation and chief information officer and executive quality leader for Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation and the Toshiba Healthcare Company. Before that, he was senior vice president and assistant to the president for Toshiba America Medical Systems and general manager of the X-ray Vascular Business Unit at Toshiba Medical Systems Corporation.
Yamamoto joined Toshiba in 1987 after graduating from Hokkaido University with a master’s degree in biomedical engineering for work on pump design for an artificial heart.
Vice President, Marketing
As vice president of Marketing, Satrajit Misra is responsible for overseeing all business units, Corporate and Strategic Communications, Clinical Collaborations and Healthcare Economics at Toshiba. Prior to this position, Misra served as senior director, CT Business Unit at Toshiba, increasing sales and launching new products including the award-winning Aquilion™ ONE ViSION.
Before joining Toshiba, Misra served as senior director and head of product marketing for Nuclear Medicine at Philips Healthcare and was a medical systems director of Business Management at Siemens. He holds a bachelor of science and a bachelor of technology in applied physics from the University of Calcutta in India and attended the School of Business and Economic Studies at the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom.
Senior Vice President, Sales
As senior vice president, Lawrence Dentice’s primary responsibilities focus on building Toshiba’s field sales organization in order to fully develop strategic accounts to include IDNs, GPOs and government business, as well as supporting our dealer relationships and future distribution models.
Dentice rejoins Toshiba from Esaote, where he was president. He also formerly held the position of senior vice president and general manager of Philips Healthcare, as well as general manager and senior vice president, sales at Toshiba America Medical Systems.
Prior to joining Toshiba in 2002, Dentice worked for Inphact in Nashville, Tenn., a PACS information technology company, where he was vice president, sales and marketing. Prior to that he worked for Marconi Medical Systems in Cleveland, Ohio, from 1985 to 2001. Dentice also worked for GE Medical Systems from 1974 to 1985 in engineering service and sales.
Karen La Point
Vice President, Business Operations
Karen La Point is responsible for business operations and driving Toshiba’s sales revenue. As vice president, Business Operations, La Point oversees national quotes, national bids and contract administration; NEMA submissions and reporting, pricing analysis and sales support analysis; sales logistics management, including warehouse logistics and configuration analysis; customer support management, including installation project management and site planning and installation support; and clinical applications and customer, sales and service training.
La Point rejoins Toshiba after working for several years at Siemens Healthcare as vice president, Los Angeles Region, and director, Molecular Imaging West. La Point formerly held the position of vice president, Operations, at Toshiba. Prior to joining Toshiba in 2002, La Point acted as vice president, North American Sales at Philips, and prior to that she held sales positions at GE.
Vice President, Service
As vice president of Service, Tim is responsible for field operations, service marketing, logistics, technical support and the business unit’s financial operations. Tim joins Toshiba from Toshiba Medical Research Institute where he held the role of president. Prior to that, he worked at Toshiba as senior director of IT.
Vice President and Chief Financial Officer
As vice president and chief financial officer, John Patterson is responsible for all accounting, tax and finance functions, including forecasting, budgeting and mid-term business planning. He also oversees Toshiba America Medical Credit operations. Patterson joined Toshiba in 1991 and has held the position of controller since 1999. His previous roles include assistant controller, manager of finance and manager of inventory accounting.
Vice President and General Counsel
As vice president and general counsel, Nader Rad is responsible for the company’s legal and regulatory affairs, as well as the company’s interaction with the Food and Drug Administration and the medical industry’s primary trade associations. He joined Toshiba in 1990 as associate general counsel and since then has served as deputy general counsel and general counsel before assuming his latest role. Rad has extensive experience in the legal field, with a background in negotiating and drafting contracts and providing counsel on employment, antitrust and other regulation issues, as well as litigation management and legal training. Rad started his career working at publicly traded companies and law firms before joining Toshiba.
