Toshiba: Leading Innovation
The Affordable Care Act calls for the creation of Accountable Care Organizations (ACOs) as part of a new healthcare delivery model.
Intended to improve the quality of patient care while simultaneously lowering its cost, ACOs would consist of healthcare cooperatives with primary care physicians responsible for directing all patient care within them. Radiologists could be part of an ACO or provide it with contracted services and would collaborate with primary care physicians to make certain that imaging services are utilized appropriately and efficiently.
ACOs that deliver quality care and reduce costs would be rewarded with financial incentives as part of a shared savings program. Toshiba looks forward to partnering with ACOs by providing them with diagnostic imaging equipment that improves the quality of care consistent with the goals of the new healthcare model. Sign up »
